         There are all kinds of customer service training out there. All kinds of formats, too. Books, seminars, classes, adult education, videos, audio's, PowerPoint presentations, etc. Some of it is very good and, to be honest, anyone one of these products will help you.      When we started developing our customer service training and customer service courses, we knew there were many "roadblocks" out there with other training methods. By roadblocks, we mean things that prevented people from getting the most out of their training. We talked to people, looked at the different types of training available, and then developed what we think is the perfect training for anyone.

Customer Service Training Roadblock # 1:
 The Wrong Pace of Learning

     Perhaps the most common roadblock involves creating a pace of training that allows everyone to get the most out of training. If you ever attended a class or seminar, you might have thought the pace was either too fast or too slow. The instructor or teacher has to "fit" all of the material into the allotted time frame. Plus, they have to move along at the pace of the class.

     When this happens, some students either get bored when things go too slow or miss important content when things go too fast. Either way, when the pace doesn't match the student, problems can occur.

     We developed our customer service training to be self-paced. By self-paced we mean that the individual taking the training moves as quickly, or as slowly, as they feel is best for them. Not what's best for the teacher or the class, but for THEM. This assures that the individual gets to absorb and understand ALL the content before they move on to the next topic.

Customer Service Training Roadblock #2:
Time

     The second biggest potential roadblock is time. Most of us do not have a lot of free time during our average week. We also don't have a lot of vacation time or personal time to take off to attend a class or seminar. Family obligations, or even fatigue makes taking a night class even more difficult. When time becomes "the enemy" very often that is used as an excuse not to get the training you need to succeed.

     Seminars and classes are held at fixed times. If those times are not good or convenient for you, you are out of luck. Also, there might be travel time involved as well adding even more time needed to get the training. It is not uncommon to have to drive an hour or more each day each way to attend a class or seminar. Maybe even more!

     Our training can be done in the privacy of your own home or office. Plus, it is done on YOUR schedule, not the schedule of a seminar or class. You decide when and where you will train. You can be flexible as needed to fit your schedule! You don't have to dedicate hours at a time to train like you do with a class or seminar.      That means you can train for a little while after dinner, during a lunch hour or coffee break, or even on the train or bus on the way to or from work! You have ultimate freedom to schedule your training as you feel is best! Go as fast or slow as you like, whenever you like, if you like. You are the boos and you are in total control at all times.

Customer Service Training Roadblock # 3:
Money

     The third most common roadblock is money. Granted money is on everyone's mind these days and while it is a legitimate issue, most people use money as an excuse instead of a valid reason.

     The truth be told, you could go to the library and get a ton of books on customer service and that would cost you nothing at all. Just a lot of time to read them all but all at no cost. So let's take a step back and be 100% honest from this point on. You can find cost effective training and money will not be a roadblock unless you want it to be.

     The cost of customer service training courses can run into the $1,000's of dollars and the cost of a good customer service training seminar can easily cost your $300-$1,000 depending on the length. In fact, we have seen seminars that cost over $3,000!! Now that could very well be a roadblock for a lot of people out there!
