If
you found yourself on this page it is hopefully because we've piqued
your curiosity about making a commitment regarding customer service
training. If that's the case, that's great! If you are still unsure
or undecided, here is where you just might find a fact or two that will
convince you.
I read somewhere that someone said that "life would be a lot easier
if other people weren't involved". Though that sounds cynical in
nature, the fact remains that many a relationship, sale, or customer has
been lost due to a misunderstanding or wrong approach. Many a situation
has been made worse, instead of better, by the use of the wrong word or
phrase. In other words, life can be made better, or worse, depending on
how we all interact with each other.
Customer Service Training is training that allows you to interact with
everyone, not just customers, and be able to use skills that make it
possible to resolve problems or prevent them in the first place.
Although that is an extremely high level view of these skills, it still
reflects some pretty powerful possibilities.
First, let's talk about interacting with customers or co-workers (our
internal customers). How would it benefit you to be able to interact
with those you work with, your boss, the owner, etc. and be able to
understand what they want, what they need, and in some cases, give it to
them before they even ask for it? How important would it be to be able
to reduce stress by resolving issues faster and more economically?
Now let's take those same examples and talk about your spouse or family
members instead of customers. How nice would it be to be able to relate
to, and interact with, those same people and be able to resolve or
prevent some problems before they became problems. How valuable would it
be to you to be able to understand the needs of your spouse, your
children, even your parents, on a daily basis?
Let's take this in another direction and talk about the people you come
in contact with every day, sales people, friends, neighbors, etc. Being
able to relate to them and treat them better can play huge dividends in
life. Relationships that you nurture today can help you in unlimited
ways in the future. Even being able to understand and negotiate with a
salesperson to get a better price on a new car or other purchase can
save you a lot of money!
Whatever the situation, whomever the people involved, those who know how
to communicate and have exceptional listening skills tend to go further
in life, have better and stronger relationships, and become more
successful over their lives because of these skills.
Like it or not, we are not alone in this world. We need to be able to
interact and understand each other in order to survive. the phrase
"No man is an Island" is quite true. We need each other to
thrive and survive and those of us who understand that and learn the
skills we need will be the happier and more successful of the species.
Again, that is not hype, that is just fact.
I just hate hype and those who use that to promote a product or close a
sale but in this case, what might sound like hype is truly the truth!
People who know how to listen and communicate and choose their words
carefully and properly DO go further in life and they DO go through
their lives with far less stress than most people. That's not hype, it's
FACT! Anyone who has gone to see a therapist or counselor will tell you
that communication is the basis for successful relationships. And
Customer Service Training is about about proper communication and
listening skills.
